An assessment is given after filling out the information sheet. Our chiropractor will ask you questions about your purpose of having a chiropractic treatment, your past injuries, medical conditions and prescriptions, lifestyle habits, and other information that can help identify the root cause of the problem.
After considering the information you provided, the chiropractor will have to conduct a physical assessment where the chiropractor will have to check your spinal structure, move your joints, and ask you to do some actions. Your muscle strength, flexibility, and reflexes are also assessed.
Depending on the severity of the condition and your permission, the treatment may take place right away. During the treatment process, expect that the chiropractor will have to touch your back and other parts of your body to do a proper adjustment procedure. Also, expect to hear cracking and popping sounds as it means that gas is being released from the pressure points.
Chiropractors are not allowed to prescribe any medication; however, supplements like vitamins can be suggested. Your chiropractor will also recommend some helpful exercises that you can do at home. Depending on your choice, you can schedule a follow-up treatment. You expect that the treatment is much shorter for a follow-up visit for only 10 to 20 minutes compared to your first treatment. Make sure to inform your chiropractor if ever you feel some swelling or soreness.
